Employees Motivation Strengths and Weaknesses

Employees are heart of business and every effort is made to motivate them. Like everything thing there is always a negative side to motivation

Improved Job performance- It will not be possible to give all the employee the same level of motivation.

Motivated employees are an asset to the company and they perform well and meet the targets. This is the motivation strength. (Quain, 2011).

On the other hand the weakness would be the resentfulness and conflict with employees do not have the same motivation.

Job Satisfaction and Incentive- The employees Job satisfaction is a motivation strength. (Quain, 2011). Incentive will be a motivation weaknesses. As the employee once reaches his incentive to perform further will not be there.

Employee empowerment has strength and weakness

Strength: Increase job satisfaction , Effective Team work, Increased employee participation, Increase trust in the organization, Lower absenteeism degree, better productivity and profitability, less conflict as employees will more likely agree with changes if they can get involved in the decision making process. (Quain, 2011).

Weaknesses: Misuse of newly acquired power by the employees, Mangers may not want to divide power with someone they look down upon. (Quain, 2011).

Cultural Diversity has strength and weakness

Strength: According to Koppel, Yan and Ludicke (2007). A culturally diverse workforce increases the profit of an organization.

Employees with different backgrounds encode and decode messages in different ways leading to a higher possibility of misunderstanding, collision and tension. (Kim 2001)
